Prerequisites
- • Meta Business Account
- • Verified Business (for production use)
- • WhatsApp Business Phone Number
- • Zonnex mobile app installed
Create a Meta Developer Account
Go to developers.facebook.com and create an account if you don't have one
- Visit https://developers.facebook.com/apps
- Click "Create App" button
- Select "Business" as the app type
- Fill in your app name and contact email
Add WhatsApp Product
Add WhatsApp to your Meta app
- In your app dashboard, click "Add Product"
- Find "WhatsApp" and click "Set Up"
- Navigate to "Getting Started" section
Get Phone Number ID
Copy your WhatsApp Business Phone Number ID
- In WhatsApp → Getting Started
- Find "Phone Number ID" field
- Click the copy icon to copy the ID
- Save this ID - you'll need it in the app
Generate Access Token
Create a permanent access token for API calls
- Go to WhatsApp → Getting Started
- Click "Generate Token" or create a System User
- For production, create a System User in Business Settings
- Generate a permanent token with whatsapp_business_messaging permission
- Copy and securely save the access token
Configure Webhook
Set up webhook to receive messages and status updates
- Go to WhatsApp → Configuration
- Click "Edit" in the Webhook section
- Enter the Callback URL from the Zonnex app
- Enter your Verify Token (create a random string)
- Click "Verify and Save"
- Subscribe to "messages" and "message_status" fields
Test Your Setup
Send a test message to verify everything works
- Go to WhatsApp → API Setup
- Use the "Send Test Message" feature
- Send a message to your phone number
- Verify you receive the message
Enter Credentials in Zonnex App
Complete the setup in the mobile app
- Open Zonnex app and navigate to API Setup screen
- Paste your Phone Number ID
- Paste your Access Token
- Enter the same Verify Token you used in Meta
- Click "Test Connection"
- Click "Save & Continue" when successful
Important Links
Common Issues & Solutions
❌ Invalid Access Token
→ Regenerate the token and make sure it has whatsapp_business_messaging permission
❌ Webhook Verification Failed
→ Check that the Verify Token in Meta matches exactly what you entered in the app
❌ Phone Number ID Not Found
→ Verify your Business Account is properly set up and the phone number is registered
